Pronto Revolutionizes Domestic Help in India with Significant Valuation Growth

Bengaluru-based Pronto is transforming India's informal domestic help sector by bringing it online. As the demand for their services surges, investors are increasingly backing the startup.

On Tuesday, Pronto announced a successful $25 million Series B funding round led by Epiq Capital, elevating its valuation to $100 million in just nine months. This marks a remarkable increase from its previous valuation of $45 million in August 2025 and an impressive jump from $12.5 million when it first launched in May. Existing investors, including Glade Brook Capital, General Catalyst, and Bain Capital Ventures, have contributed to a total funding of approximately $40 million.

Pronto specializes in swift, structured services for daily tasks, such as mopping and utensil cleaning, ensuring that trained and background-verified professionals are available on demand. The company can dispatch workers, referred to as "Pros," within approximately 10 minutes across several micromarkets, positioning itself at the forefront of quick commerce.

Currently, Pronto manages around 18,000 bookings daily, a significant increase from about 1,000 a year ago. Founder Anjali Sardana highlighted that the average time between a customer's first and second booking is merely two days, with the top 10% of users making nine or more orders each month. The company aims to reach 70,000 daily bookings by June.

In less than seven months, Pronto has expanded its operations from one city to ten, including major urban centers like Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, and has grown its service areas from five to over 150. However, the bulk of its activity is still concentrated in a few regions, particularly the National Capital Region, which accounts for about half of total bookings.

Sardana noted that Pronto has only begun to scratch the surface of India's largely offline domestic services market, where most hiring still occurs through informal channels. She emphasized that a staggering 99.99% of the market remains offline, with tens of millions of households relying on traditional arrangements.

Building the Workforce

Pronto currently employs 4,500 active professionals, with around 99% being women. Workers who complete approximately 20 shifts a month earn a median income of ₹23,000 to ₹25,000. The company boasts a monthly worker retention rate exceeding 70%. Despite this, demand is outpacing the onboarding of new staff, with bookings increasing by 20% weekly.

As Pronto explores new markets, it is witnessing encouraging signs of profitability in its oldest locations, while newer markets are still in the investment phase. Sardana mentioned the company has utilized about $8 million so far and now has a runway of roughly two years following this latest funding round.

With the fresh capital, Pronto plans to onboard more professionals, strengthen its presence in existing cities, and explore new urban areas. It is also testing new services, including cooking and car washing, while core tasks like cleaning remain the most in-demand.

Pronto operates with a compact team of around 60 employees, focusing on efficiency in engineering, product development, and design.

The Competition

As Pronto navigates a competitive landscape in India's home services market, it faces rivals like Snabbit and Urban Company. While Snabbit recently raised $30 million at a $180 million valuation, Urban Company reported surpassing 50,000 daily bookings.

Despite the competition, Sardana emphasized that Pronto's commitment to service quality will ultimately attract customers, stating, "At the end of the day, customers will come to the platform that provides the highest quality service."
