While Art Basel Paris is set to close on Saturday, several independent fairs plan to keep their exhibitions open, giving visitors other ways to experience the city's art week.
Asia NOW and Paris Internationale planned to welcome visitors through October 24. OFFSCREEN exhibitors were told the fair would remain open through Sunday, October 25, while Outsider Paris also planned to continue through Sunday. Post-Fair will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday and close at 1 p.m., earlier than usual.
Smaller formats, international perspectives
Post-Fair is presenting its first Paris edition with 35 galleries from 15 countries. Rather than assigning each gallery a separate booth, the fair uses shared open-plan spaces for focused presentations. The model offers a more intimate alternative to conventional art fairs.
Paris Internationale brings together 54 galleries and has also opted for a condensed, curated format. Its program pairs established and emerging practices, while Post-Fair includes works by artists such as Susan Te Kahurangi King, Sawako Goda and Kentaro Kawabata.
OFFSCREEN's program explores image-based art, with a special presentation dedicated to Ana Mendieta. Across the fairs, organizers and exhibitors have reported strong visitor interest and sales during the week.
The different schedules and exhibition models show how adaptable programming can help cultural events stay accessible and create more focused encounters between audiences and art.
