Natural Raises $30 Million to Build Payment Rails for AI Agents

AI agents are moving beyond simple automation and into tasks that require real-world coordination, from finding vendors to comparing rates and arranging deliveries. The next hurdle is payment, and that is where Natural wants to make a difference.

The startup has secured $30 million in Series A funding to redesign payment infrastructure for autonomous systems. Backed by Forerunner, the company is building a layer that lets AI agents move, store, collect, and send funds without needing a human to step in at every transaction.

Founded in 2025 by Kahlil Lalji, Eric Wang, and Walt Leung, Natural is aiming to support both traditional bank payments and stablecoin-based transfers. Its broader goal is to create a payment framework that can handle not only purchases, but also disputes and transactions between agents and people.

The company says its approach is designed for a world where software operates at machine speed, opening the door to far more transactions than today's systems can comfortably manage. With talent drawn from fintech names such as Stripe, Ramp, and Square, Natural is positioning itself as a serious contender in the next phase of digital commerce.

If AI agents continue to expand into everyday business workflows, payment systems may evolve into a faster and more autonomous financial backbone for the digital economy.
