Reliance Industries is expanding its artificial intelligence vision with a set of new Jio products designed to bring AI into everyday life. At its annual shareholder meeting in Mumbai, the company introduced Jio Call Agent, an AI assistant that can join phone calls, transcribe conversations, create summaries and complete tasks such as booking rides, ordering meals and making reservations.
Activated by the phrase "Hey Jio," the service is expected to reach Jio's more than 500 million users later this year. Rather than launching as a separate app, the tool is being built directly into the telecom network, signaling Reliance's plan to make AI a native part of communication.
The company also unveiled an AI-enhanced version of the MyJio app, which can handle requests in natural language, including eSIM activation and roaming plan selection. For the home, Reliance introduced TeleFrame, a smart display that surfaces useful updates such as weather information, schedules and household reminders through AI agents.
These launches extend Reliance's broader AI strategy, which includes infrastructure and services under Reliance Intelligence. The company says its AI tools are being developed for consumers, businesses and public services, with support for 22 Indian languages. Additional offerings announced at the meeting include JioHealthIQ, JioLearnIQ, JioKrishiIQ and AI Vyapar, aimed at healthcare, education, agriculture and small businesses.
Ambani said India should not simply use AI built elsewhere, but become a creator and global leader in the field. Reliance has been building momentum through partnerships with Google, Meta and Nvidia, while also planning major investment in AI infrastructure. The company's board has now approved a draft prospectus for a Jio Platforms IPO that could include up to 270 million new shares.
As AI moves deeper into calls, apps and connected homes, Reliance is positioning itself to shape how digital assistance becomes part of daily life in India and beyond. The next phase could define how AI is experienced at scale in the years ahead.
