AI infrastructure company Groq has secured $350 million in fresh funding as it deepens its shift from chip design to neocloud services built for high-performance AI workloads.
The round was led by Disruptive and includes planned participation from Nvidia. The investment places Groq at a $3.5 billion valuation, reflecting its new position in the fast-evolving AI infrastructure market.
Groq originally focused on its own language processing units, or LPUs, designed to accelerate real-time inference. The company now operates as a cloud and data center provider, offering Nvidia-powered systems to developers and enterprises that need scalable compute for training and inference.
The company says it currently runs 13 data centers across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, and serves more than 6 million developers, businesses, and AI-native teams. The new capital will help Groq expand its capacity from 54 megawatts to more than 200 megawatts by 2027.
Groq's latest move highlights how inference has become a central layer of modern AI infrastructure, especially as organizations look for faster and more flexible compute options. As the neocloud model matures, companies like Groq may help shape the next phase of global AI deployment.
