Google's Fitbit app, now known as Google Health, has gained a useful update that makes it easier to share fitness data with Apple Health. The change brings a more connected experience for users who track activity across both ecosystems.
With the new integration, key metrics such as step counts, distance, heart rate, and sleep information can move into Apple's health platform. That means Fitbit users may now see a more complete picture of their daily wellness inside the iPhone health environment.
How to enable the sync
To activate the feature, users need to update the Google Health app to the latest version from the App Store. After updating, open the app, tap Connections, choose Apps and services, and add Apple Health. If the option does not appear immediately, reopening the app may help refresh the menu.
What is still missing
The update is not fully comprehensive yet. Some users have noted that certain advanced metrics, including heart rate variability, are not currently included in the transfer. Even so, the new connection marks a practical step toward smoother cross-platform health tracking.
As digital wellness tools become more interoperable, users may gain a more unified view of their health data across devices and platforms.
