Firefox for iOS is adding a built-in way to reduce ad clutter while browsing on an iPhone or iPad. Mozilla is gradually introducing a native ad blocker that users can switch on once it appears in their account.
According to Mozilla's support information, the feature is designed to block third-party ad networks, exchanges, trackers, pop-ups, and overlays at the network level. It can make mobile browsing feel cleaner and more focused, while still allowing some content to appear, including ads in search results and sponsored items on Firefox's Home and New Tab pages.
The feature is not fully universal yet and is being described as experimental, so availability may vary from one account to another. When it does appear, users can turn it on by opening Firefox on iOS, tapping the menu, and navigating to Settings under Browsing, then enabling Ad Blocker. The site menu also offers a quick view of whether the setting is active.
Firefox joins other mobile browsers that already include ad-blocking tools on iOS, reflecting a broader shift toward more customizable and privacy-aware browsing experiences. As these controls become more integrated, mobile web use may move toward a cleaner, more user-centered future.
