FedEx has placed an order for 2,000 electric medium-duty trucks from commercial EV manufacturer Harbinger, in an agreement valued at approximately $300 million.
The vehicles are expected to join FedEx's delivery operations by the end of next year. The order marks Harbinger's largest fleet commitment to date and builds on an earlier delivery of 53 trucks to the logistics company.
A focused approach to commercial electrification
Founded in 2022, Harbinger develops an electric chassis platform designed for medium-duty commercial vehicles. By concentrating on a core vehicle architecture, the company aims to help fleet operators transition to electric mobility with solutions tailored to daily delivery routes and operational demands.
FedEx previously supported Harbinger through a $160 million Series C investment round. The new truck order further signals the growing role of electric vehicles in modern logistics, where predictable routes and centralized charging can support more efficient fleet planning.
Harbinger is also broadening its technology portfolio through battery-based energy storage systems, hybrid vehicle applications and autonomous driving capabilities. These initiatives position the company across several areas of commercial mobility and energy infrastructure.
The deployment of thousands of electric delivery trucks could accelerate the shift toward cleaner, smarter and more adaptable urban logistics, helping shape how goods move through cities in the years ahead.
