The New Art Dealers Alliance has launched the 12th edition of NADA New York, aligning with the Frieze art fair just a short walk away. Located in Chelsea's Starrett-Lehigh building, the event features a vibrant atmosphere illuminated by natural light streaming through expansive windows.

This year, NADA showcases 110 exhibitors, just shy of last year's record, with a notable 51 galleries making their debut. This influx of new talent highlights the fair's commitment to maintaining high curatorial standards.

In a refreshing shift from previous years' focus on figurative painting, this edition emphasizes ceramics and fiber art. As reported by ARTnews, ceramics have increasingly dominated galleries and museums, while many emerging artists are exploring fiber as their medium of choice.

Among the standout exhibits is the collaboration of Andrae Green and Cyle Warner at Forgotten Lands. Their works delve into Caribbean identity, combining vibrant paintings that blur the lines of figuration with architectural sculptures made from heirloom fabrics, celebrating personal and collective histories.

Ruth Owens' poignant installation at Voltz Clarke reflects on her childhood experiences, using delicate watercolors and layered fabrics to narrate her unique upbringing. The immersive audio and video elements further enrich the storytelling, inviting viewers into her world.

At Tappeto Volante Gallery, Keiko Narahashi presents whimsical yet complex clay sculptures inspired by Herman Melville's works. This installation marks a significant moment as the gallery celebrates its fifth anniversary.

Miami's Baker--Hall features a compelling display of Jen Clay's quilted "Wild Dogs" alongside Alissa Alfonso's sculptures, which creatively repurpose discarded materials into striking artworks, transforming remnants of the past into new narratives.

Con Altura presents a dynamic pairing of Auudi Dorsey and George Rodriguez, where Dorsey's lively paintings dance with the rhythm of jazz, while Rodriguez's sculptures reflect a fusion of cultural influences, creating a vibrant dialogue between their works.

Lastly, at Central Server Works, Elena Roznovan's mixed-media pieces explore motherhood's complexities through intimate watercolors and personal totems, challenging conventional representations of this profound experience.

NADA New York 2026 not only showcases innovative artistic expressions but also emphasizes the evolving nature of contemporary art, hinting at a future where diverse mediums and narratives will continue to flourish and inspire.
