"A face tells a story of life," reflects Marianne Eriksen Scott-Hansen, a talented Danish artist renowned for her innovative paper sculptures. She intricately layers, crimp, and twists paper into vibrant floral arrangements that can envelop entire walls, creating immersive experiences. Over the past 14 years, while perfecting these botanical masterpieces, Scott-Hansen has also been crafting self-portraits using similar techniques.
Her expressive masks, adorned with braided horns and spiraling tendrils reminiscent of a lion's mane, serve as a personal diary, capturing moments and emotions that might otherwise remain unvoiced. "Like Giuseppe Arcimboldo, I blend elements such as flowers and other organic details--some resembling insects--to form facial features that reflect my inner feelings," she explains.
Scott-Hansen's work is showcased through The Spaceless Gallery, where art lovers can explore her captivating creations and delve into the emotions they convey.
