Swedish electric transport company Einride is preparing a major fleet expansion by adding 500 Tesla Semis over the next 24 months, with the first units expected in September. The trucks will be rolled out in stages and made available to customers including Amazon.
The vehicles will be operated through Einride's Saga AI platform, which coordinates routing, charging, and fleet use to help businesses access electric freight without taking on the full burden of ownership and logistics.
Einride CEO Roozbeh Charli described the move as a strong sign that the company can deliver at the scale its customers need. The agreement is also set to significantly enlarge Einride's own network, which currently includes around 200 heavy-duty electric trucks serving brands such as Heineken and PepsiCo.
The Tesla Semis will support freight operations across North America, with planned coverage in California, Georgia, New Jersey, and Texas. Einride said the purchase is being financed through a third party, while the added capacity could help turn long-term shipping plans into more concrete commercial growth.
Founded a decade ago and now publicly listed, Einride has been building an integrated model that combines electric trucks, autonomous systems, and charging software. Its recent partnership with Amazon and acquisition of charging company Flipturn show how the company is shaping a more connected logistics ecosystem.
This expansion points to a future where software-driven electric freight could become a more scalable part of global supply chains.
