Dallas-based investment firm Disruptive has announced a $10 billion fund designed to invest in at least 10 late-stage companies. Individual investments could reach up to $1 billion.
The fund will target capital-intensive sectors, including artificial intelligence and defense technology. It is the firm's first blind-pool fund, allowing investors to commit capital before the specific companies are selected. Previously, Disruptive raised money for individual deals through special-purpose vehicles.
Founded in 2012 by Alex Davis, the firm has invested in companies including Palantir, Airbnb and Spotify, as well as AI-focused businesses Groq and ElevenLabs. The fund's scale could give emerging technology companies access to substantial capital as they expand.
By directing large investments toward late-stage firms, Disruptive's fund may help shape how ambitious technologies move from development to wider adoption.
