This milestone, reported by a Bloomberg source, indicates that the four-year-old startup has successfully doubled its revenue run rate in just three months.
This announcement comes amid a wave of skepticism regarding Cursor's growth trajectory. Recently, social media discussions have raised concerns about potential stagnation, particularly following notable departures of developers to competing platforms, including Anthropic's Claude Code.
Founded in 2022, Cursor initially catered to individual developers. However, over the past year, the company has shifted its focus towards securing larger corporate clients, which now contribute around 60% of its revenue, as per Bloomberg's insights.
Although some individual developers have transitioned to Claude Code, perceived as a more competitively priced option, this trend primarily affects smaller clients. The more substantial corporate customers, who typically invest more, have shown a tendency to remain loyal to Cursor.
