Clicks Technology has shared a fresh look at its upcoming Clicks Communicator, a smartphone designed for people who still value fast typing, messaging, and email on the go. First introduced at CES in Las Vegas, the device blends a retro keyboard feel with a contemporary Android experience.
Priced at $499, the Communicator features a screen paired with a tactile, touch-sensitive keyboard that recalls the appeal of classic BlackBerry devices. The company is also adding a few distinctive touches to make the phone stand out in today's market.
One of the most notable additions is Signal Light, a customizable side light that can change color and pattern to signal alerts from specific contacts, groups, or apps. The phone also includes swappable back covers, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a physical SIM slot alongside eSIM support, expandable microSD storage up to 2TB, and a dedicated switch for airplane mode.
Clicks is positioning the device for users who want a more focused mobile experience, with Android app access managed through Niagara Launcher. The company says the pre-production hardware and software shown in the new video are part of its final preview before shipping begins in the fourth quarter of the year.
With its mix of nostalgic design and practical upgrades, the Clicks Communicator reflects a growing interest in phones that prioritize control, comfort, and purposeful use. It may help shape the next wave of human-centered mobile design.
