Christie's Paris will place a remarkable chapter of art history on the auction stage during Paris Art Week, with a sale dedicated to dealer Paul Durand-Ruel, whose support helped shape the rise of Impressionism.
Scheduled for October 22 and 23, the event brings together 62 works preserved within the family trust. The collection features names that defined modern painting, including Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Pablo Picasso, Eugène Boudin, and Alfred Sisley.
The group is expected to achieve between €30 million and €43 million. Before the auction, the works will be shown at Christie's Paris from October 16 to 22, offering collectors and visitors a close look at a collection tied to one of the most influential art dealers of the 19th century.
Among the leading lots are Monet's Bord des falaises à Pourville, Sisley's winter scene from Louveciennes, Pissarro's view of the Louvre, Picasso's still life, Monet's Trois pots de tulipes, and Renoir's Jeunes filles au bord de la mer. The sale also reflects Durand-Ruel's lasting role in championing artists whose work later became central to modern art history.
