Bhavin Turakhia's $30 Million Bet on an AI-First Workplace Platform

Indian entrepreneur Bhavin Turakhia is investing $30 million of his own capital into Neo, a new enterprise platform designed to rethink workplace software for the AI era. His core idea is simple: tools built before generative AI should not be patched with chat features, but rebuilt from the ground up.

Turakhia, who has previously co-founded companies such as Directi, Radix, Titan and Zeta, is once again following a founder-led path by self-funding the early phase of the venture. He says the shift brought by AI is large enough to justify a fresh approach to productivity software.

Neo combines project management, document handling, file storage and AI in one environment. The platform is built to make AI part of everyday workflows rather than a separate tool employees open occasionally. It is also model-agnostic, giving businesses flexibility to move between AI models instead of relying on a single provider.

The startup has already been used internally across Turakhia's own companies, including Zeta. In the next phase, Neo plans to expand to mid-sized businesses, with an initial focus on knowledge workers in technology, consulting and professional services.

Turakhia says the first version of the platform was created in about three months, with AI helping accelerate development that would previously have taken much longer. The Bengaluru-based company currently has around 18 engineers and expects to grow to roughly 45 employees by year-end, with hiring centered on AI and software engineering.

As enterprise AI competition intensifies, Neo is positioning itself around a clean-slate product vision. If that approach gains traction, it could help shape the next generation of workplace software.
