Arc Browser Is Set to Sunset: How to Prepare Your Data

Arc Browser Is Set to Sunset: How to Prepare Your Data

The Browser Company plans to end Arc browser support on December 22, 2026. Users moving to another browser should prepare in advance: Arc's built-in export covers Spaces and tabs, while other data may need to be transferred separately.

What you can export

Arc saves exported Spaces and tabs in an Export.md file containing links. On macOS, open Arc > Settings > Advanced > Export Data. On Windows, go to Settings > Export Spaces and tabs > Export Data.

To transfer links from an individual folder, right-click it and choose Copy All Links. macOS users can select "Copy All Links as Markdown" to retain link titles. Arc Easels can also be saved as PNG files through the share menu.

There is no built-in export for information such as passwords, bookmarks, extensions, or browsing history. Users should move saved credentials and other important data to their chosen services before the shutdown. Arc accounts will be deactivated on December 22, with personal data scheduled for deletion within 30 days.

Preparing early can make the move smoother and help users preserve the parts of their browsing setup that matter most. The transition also highlights how portable data is becoming an increasingly important feature of the browser experience.
