The Center for Craft invites applications for the 2026 Craft Archive Fellowship, providing four grants of $5,000 each aimed at fostering research into underrepresented craft histories across the United States.
This fellowship is accessible to a diverse array of scholars, from emerging talents to seasoned researchers, including independent artists. It focuses on archival research that highlights feminist, intersectional, queer, Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian American, Pacific Islander, and other non-mainstream craft narratives. Selected fellows will conduct both traditional and innovative archival work, culminating in a special feature in Hyperallergic and a virtual program organized by the Center for Craft in September 2027.
Among the fellowships, three will be designated as the Ayumi Horie Award, the Sara Clugage Award, and the Gallaher Family Award. Additional awards can also be established by reaching out to the Center for Craft.
A virtual information session is scheduled for April 7, 2026, from 5 to 6 PM (ET). This session is complimentary, but prior registration is mandatory.
