Health insurance technology company Angle Health has announced a $200 million Series C financing round alongside a $400 million tender offer, bringing its valuation to $2.7 billion.
The investment was led by Vitruvian Partners, with participation from Town Hall Ventures, Blumberg Capital, Portage Ventures, PruVen Capital and Y Combinator. The tender offer is designed to give eligible employees an opportunity to sell part of their equity holdings. The financing is expected to close later this month.
Predictable health coverage for smaller companies
Founded in 2019 and part of Y Combinator's Winter 2020 cohort, Angle Health develops tools for small businesses seeking more flexible ways to provide employee health coverage. Its platform focuses on level-funded health plans, a model positioned between traditional fully insured coverage and self-funded plans.
Under this structure, employers make predictable monthly payments while receiving protection against unexpectedly high healthcare costs. When claims remain below expected levels, businesses may also be able to share in unused funds.
Angle Health uses AI-supported tools to help employers compare, select and manage plans, while connecting benefits administration with payroll and HR systems. The company says it now serves more than 5,000 businesses and operates profitably.
The funding signals growing interest in technology platforms that can make workplace benefits more accessible, data-driven and adaptable for smaller employers. As AI becomes more embedded in benefits administration, such models could help reshape how businesses design sustainable health coverage.
