Amazon has reduced the price of its Fire TV Stick 4K from $59.99 to $24.99, a discount of about 58%. The compact streaming device can add 4K access to a compatible television or provide an alternative to its built-in smart TV interface.
4K streaming in a compact design
Measuring 3.6 inches, the stick connects behind a TV and can draw power from its USB port using the included cable. It supports Wi-Fi 6, 4K streaming, HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG on compatible displays.
The redesigned Alexa voice remote includes shortcut buttons for streaming services. Alexa can also search for programs, open apps and control compatible smart-home devices. The Fire TV Stick 4K does not support Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos; Amazon's Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, listed at $39.99, includes those formats.
At this price, the device offers a relatively accessible way to bring modern streaming features to a television. Compact streaming hardware like this can help make higher-resolution entertainment available across a wider range of home screens.
