YouTube Removes Leading AI Content Channels

YouTube has removed two major AI content channels, reflecting its commitment to quality and authenticity in digital media. Discover the latest developments in the streaming landscape.

YouTube has recently removed two of its most prominent AI-focused channels from the platform, as confirmed by a report from Kapwing. One of these channels, CuentosFacianantes, had garnered an impressive following of over 5.9 million subscribers and achieved more than 1.2 billion views before its disappearance.

In a report published in November 2025, Kapwing identified CuentosFacianantes as the leading AI slop channel, known for producing low-quality videos themed around Dragon Ball. Another channel, Imperio de Jesus, which boasted over 5.8 million subscribers and focused on interactive quizzes to strengthen faith, has also been taken down.

This action follows recent comments from YouTube CEO Neal Mohan, who highlighted the company's commitment to reducing the spread of low-quality AI content. In a letter to users, he stated that YouTube would enhance its existing systems designed to combat spam and misleading content.

Kapwing's findings revealed that 16 additional AI slop channels have either been deleted or currently lack any content on YouTube. Among these are channels like Héroes de Fantasía and Adhamali-0. While the Super Cat League channel remains active, it no longer features any videos. Its description hinted at an innovative approach to digital storytelling, merging the charm of cats with advanced AI technology.

These channels collectively had over 2 million subscribers. However, it remains unclear whether YouTube proactively removed them or if they were taken down for other reasons. The Verge has reached out to YouTube for further clarification but has yet to receive a response.

Last year, YouTube announced initiatives aimed at addressing "inauthentic" content, leading to the removal of channels that produced fake AI-generated movie trailers. Despite these measures, the platform continues to encourage creators to utilize AI in their content.
