X has started rolling out X Money to paid subscribers in the United States, marking a new step in its push toward a broader digital services platform.
Eligible users receive an X Visa debit card that can be added to Apple Pay right away, along with instant peer-to-peer transfers inside the app. The service also includes a physical card, no foreign transaction fees, and free ATM withdrawals worldwide, according to X Money.
The platform is pairing payments with financial perks. Premium+ subscribers, who pay $40 per month or $395 per year, can access a 6% APY. Premium users, priced at $8 per month or $84 per year, can unlock the same rate by linking direct deposit. X Money also highlights up to 3% cash back on select purchases and earlier access to deposited funds.
The launch reflects Elon Musk's long-running ambition to build X into an everything app. The idea traces back to X.com, the financial startup he founded in 1999 before it merged into PayPal. After acquiring Twitter in 2022, Musk renamed the platform X and reclaimed the X.com domain, reinforcing that long-term vision.
As digital platforms continue blending communication, commerce, and finance, X Money may help shape a more integrated online experience in the years ahead.
