Wiz Khalifa Turns Consistent Training Into a Strength-Building Routine

Wiz Khalifa shares how regular strength training, kickboxing and adaptable bodyweight workouts have helped him gain muscle, build consistency and support creative focus.

Wiz Khalifa Turns Consistent Training Into a Strength-Building Routine

For Wiz Khalifa, strength training has become a regular part of life alongside music and business. He works out five or six days a week at Unbreakable Performance in West Hollywood, where trainer Zach Goetz guides sessions that combine weights, bodyweight exercises and kickboxing.

Khalifa particularly enjoys inverted rows, which work the back and arms. He says he has treated training as an ongoing learning process, continually refining his technique and trying new approaches.

A routine built around consistency

A typical workout lasts about 90 minutes. Khalifa starts with resistance exercises and finishes with around 30 minutes of kickboxing. He says training helps him clear his mind and make room for new creative ideas.

Since beginning regular workouts in 2017, Khalifa has increased his weight by 30 pounds to 170 pounds. His weekly schedule rotates between legs and core, chest and shoulders or arms, and back and core, with the sequence repeated from Thursday to Saturday and Sunday reserved for rest.

Travel and late recording sessions do not always keep him from exercising: he takes equipment on tour and also has a home gym. When away from weights, his bodyweight routine includes scapular pushups, wall angels and fire hydrants, performed for four sets of 20 repetitions each.

Khalifa's next target is to add another 15 pounds of muscle. His approach highlights how a consistent, adaptable routine can fit around a demanding creative career--and how physical training may continue to support both wellbeing and creative focus.
