TV Time App to End Service as Whip Media Shifts Toward AI

TV Time will shut down in July 2026 as Whip Media pivots toward AI-powered tools, ending one of the web's largest TV fan communities.

TV Time, the popular platform for tracking shows and joining fan discussions, will stop operating on July 15, 2026. The company shared the news through in-app notices, saying the service is no longer sustainable as a free product and that demand for a paid version was not strong enough.

Owned by Whip Media, TV Time built a large community around TV and film discovery, with more than 26 million lifetime installs and tens of thousands of recent downloads. Over time, the app also became a valuable source of audience data that supported Whip Media's broader media intelligence business.

The company is now moving further into AI-powered tools and automation. Its newer focus includes Helix, a workflow and analytics platform designed to support streaming operations and supply chain management. As part of the transition, TV Time will be removed from app stores, and users will be able to request their data export before the shutdown date.

Whip Media says personal data tied to TV Time will be deleted and will not be used in future commercial services. The move reflects a wider shift in digital media, where consumer apps are increasingly giving way to AI-driven products and infrastructure. In the future, this kind of transition may reshape how entertainment communities are built and how audience insight powers the next generation of media platforms.
