StrictlyVC Returns to New York on September 10 with a Spotlight on the City's Startup Momentum

StrictlyVC is set to return to New York City on September 10, bringing its signature mix of founder, investor, and dealmaking conversations back to the heart of the startup scene. The event will take place at Ideal Glass Studios in the West Village, with general admission tickets priced at $180.

Why New York, why now

The timing reflects a strong year for the city's innovation ecosystem. According to a recent Tech:NYC report, more than 240 New York startups raised $1.13 billion in seed funding in the first half of 2026, up from $1.06 billion in the same period last year. Average seed rounds also grew, rising from $5.4 million to $6.64 million.

Across the broader market, New York startups collected $16 billion in the first half of 2026, approaching the $19.1 billion raised across all of 2025. The capital has flowed into a wide range of sectors, including AI, healthcare, climate, fintech, robotics, and consumer technology.

What the program will explore

The opening session will feature Craig Shapiro, founder and managing partner of Collaborative Fund, alongside Connie Loizos, TechCrunch editor-in-chief and StrictlyVC founder. Their discussion, "The Business of Belonging," will focus on the growing value of community in modern companies and the opportunities emerging where technology meets real-world connection.

Another highlight will be a conversation with Tristan Walker, founder of Heirloom Craft, who will share lessons from building a standout consumer brand and reflect on leadership in an AI-shaped era. More speakers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

StrictlyVC's format is designed to go beyond the stage, creating space for direct exchange between founders, investors, and operators. With New York's startup momentum building, the event is positioned as a meeting point for ideas, relationships, and future opportunities. It may help shape the next chapter of the city's innovation economy.
