Stephen Curry's Game-Worn Sneakers to Auction at Sotheby's for Charity

Stephen Curry's iconic game-worn sneakers will be auctioned at Sotheby's, with proceeds benefiting youth-focused initiatives through the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation.

From April 13 to April 28, more than 70 pairs of sneakers worn by NBA superstar Stephen Curry during the 2025-26 season will be available at auction through Sotheby's, with all proceeds benefiting the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation.

This online auction follows Curry's recent announcement of entering "sneaker free agency," a significant shift in his career as he moves away from a long-term partnership with Under Armour. Since then, the Golden State Warriors guard has donned a variety of sneakers, showcasing different styles during warm-ups, tunnel walks, and games.

Sotheby's describes this collection as a "singular chapter" in Curry's journey, featuring models from renowned brands such as Nike, Jordan Brand, Adidas, Puma, and Li-Ning. Individual pairs are estimated to fetch between $3,000 and $50,000, determined by their rarity and whether they are game-worn or signed.

Highlighting the auction is a pair of Nike Kobe 6 Protro "Mambacita" sneakers, worn shortly after Curry declared his free agency, paying tribute to the late Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna. Another notable item is the Nike Air Jordan 12 "Flu Game," famously linked to Michael Jordan's iconic performance during the 1997 NBA Finals, which Curry wore before a game against the Utah Jazz.

The auction also features game-worn sneakers associated with significant milestones, including a Nike Kobe 4 Protro "CHBL" model that Curry wore during a 48-point game, setting a record for the most 40-point games by a player over 30. Other lots include a custom Nike Sabrina 3 connected to Sabrina Ionescu and the On THE ROGER Pro, a tennis-inspired shoe developed with Roger Federer.

Curry emphasized the auction's potential impact off the court, stating that proceeds will support programs focused on youth nutrition, literacy, and safe play spaces. "This auction is a true form of storytelling," said Brahm Wachter, Sotheby's head of modern collectibles. "Each pair of sneakers reflects Stephen's personal journey, his passion for the game, and his respect for fellow athletes. The sneaker community is eagerly following this 'free agency' moment, and the auction is expected to generate significant excitement."

Founded in 2019 by Curry and his wife Ayesha, the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation aims to improve the lives of children in underserved communities, particularly in Oakland, enhancing their access to vital resources.
