Spotify has crossed a major milestone, passing 300 million subscribers for the first time, according to the company's latest quarterly update. The platform also reported 777 million monthly active users in the second quarter, marking a 12% increase year over year.
The company said subscriber growth reached 9% during the quarter, even as it adjusted pricing in several markets. Alongside its core music service, Spotify has been broadening its ecosystem with fitness content, narrated magazine articles, concert ticket access, and book sales.
Financially, the streaming giant posted quarterly revenue of €4.8 billion ($5.52 billion), up 14% from the same period last year. Much of its recent product momentum has come from AI-driven tools designed to make listening more personal and interactive.
Recent additions include features for creating personalized podcasts, AI-powered podcast Q&A and briefings, an audiobook creation tool developed with ElevenLabs, and a conversational assistant that responds to user prompts. Spotify has also introduced artist verification and optional AI labels to help listeners better understand content origins.
As streaming platforms evolve, Spotify's growth suggests that personalization, creator tools, and intelligent audio experiences will play an even larger role in the future of digital entertainment.
