Music streaming platform Spotify and Anthropic's AI assistant Claude experienced temporary service disruptions, affecting users across several features.
Spotify acknowledged that some listeners were unable to access playlists and other platform functions, while its technical teams began reviewing the issue. At around the same time, Anthropic reported reduced performance across Claude's web service, developer platform, API, Claude Code and Claude Cowork.
Two Major Digital Services, One Morning of Disruption
The timing drew attention because both platforms serve large global communities in different areas of digital life: Spotify in audio and entertainment, and Claude in generative AI and workplace productivity. At this stage, there was no indication that the two incidents were connected.
Temporary interruptions can occur as platforms manage infrastructure demand, software updates or wider network performance fluctuations. Both companies indicated that their teams were investigating and working to restore normal access.
As streaming and AI tools become more deeply embedded in everyday routines, resilient digital infrastructure will remain central to a future where creativity, learning and work can continue seamlessly across connected platforms.
