Electric vehicle startup Slate Auto is expanding its customization-first approach with a new collaboration that adds a playful design layer to its pickup truck. The company, backed by Jeff Bezos, has positioned its $24,950 electric truck as a simple base model that buyers can personalize with wraps, decals, lighting, and accessories.
Under the new partnership, Slate will offer five vehicle wraps inspired by signature Crayola shades: Cerulean, Fern, Jersey Tomato, Razzmatazz, and Dandelion. The color wraps are priced at $1,549.99 and include a matching key fob plus a dashboard art piece called a "Slatelet" for customers choosing the Crayola-themed option.
The collaboration marks Crayola's first automotive partnership and adds another creative dimension to Slate's growing design strategy. The company has also announced a separate wrap project with New York artist Max Kolo, signaling that more artistic collaborations may follow as the brand builds its identity around personalization.
Slate, which emerged from stealth in 2025, has not yet begun deliveries. Its truck starts as a two-seat model and can be converted into a five-seat SUV priced at $29,950, reflecting the company's flexible product vision.
As electric mobility evolves, partnerships like this may help turn vehicles into more expressive, design-led consumer products.
