Shaboozey's Training Routine Blends Music, Mobility, and Athletic Power

Shaboozey is bringing an athlete's mindset to his stage preparation, turning fitness into a core part of his performance identity. The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Collins Obinna Chibueze, says his workouts now help him deliver longer, more dynamic shows with greater focus and stamina.

He began taking training seriously about two years ago with personal trainer Laurence Ng, whose background includes working with Travis Kelce. At the start, Shaboozey was still building basic strength; today, his routine includes heavy sled pushes, mobility work, core training, and reactive drills designed to sharpen coordination and explosiveness.

One of his sessions features thoracic mobility warmups, BlazePod reaction-light drills, banded decline situps, jump rope, banded sprints, dumbbell T-pushups, Bird Dog Rows, and battle ropes. The mix reflects a modern approach to performance training, where strength, speed, and movement quality work together.

Shaboozey also sees fitness as part of his creative edge. Watching other performers add athletic moments to their shows has inspired him to think about how movement can become part of the concert experience. For him, training is not only about conditioning, but also about confidence, rhythm, and stage presence.

His routine is a reminder that music performance is increasingly shaped by preparation that looks a lot like elite sports training. As artists continue to merge creativity with physical discipline, the future of live performance may become even more energetic, expressive, and athletic.
