Samsung's highly anticipated Galaxy Z TriFold, launched recently in the U.S. at a premium price of $2,900, is experiencing some initial user difficulties. This innovative device features a remarkable 10-inch display that folds for portability, but early adopters are reporting issues with the screens.

Two users have taken to social media to share their experiences. One user, who acquired their TriFold about six weeks ago, reported that the inner screen began to flash green before going black and becoming unresponsive. They noted that restarting the device sometimes resolved the issue, but not always.

The second user faced a more severe problem, as their screen completely failed within just five days of purchase. Initially, they experienced ghost touches, where the screen registered inputs that were not made. This was followed by a persistent white screen and an unusual popping sound when closing the device, leading to concerns about potential defects.

Both users emphasized that their devices had not been subjected to any stress, with one describing their usage as "normal" and the other stating they had "babied" the phone. Speculation among the community suggests that the flashing issue may be related to a faulty ribbon cable, a problem seen in other devices, while the complete failure could reflect challenges associated with first-generation foldable technology.

A third user from Korea reported a similar issue, noting a line of dead pixels on their device. Despite these early challenges, all users have had positive interactions with Samsung's support team. The first user received confirmation that their device would be repaired at no cost, though it may take one to three weeks for the process to be completed. The second user opted for a return, choosing to revert to the less expensive Galaxy Z Fold 7 instead. The Korean user also reported a successful replacement of their device.

While these experiences highlight some initial concerns with the Galaxy Z TriFold, they also underscore the importance of consumer support. For those considering this cutting-edge device, it may be prudent to explore options like Samsung Care+ to safeguard their investment against potential issues.

Currently, the Galaxy Z TriFold is out of stock in the U.S., but a new batch is expected soon, offering hope that future devices will demonstrate improved durability.
