Google and Samsung are deepening their collaboration with a fresh wave of Android features that will arrive first on the latest Galaxy foldables and smartwatch lineup before expanding to other devices.
Gemini Takes Center Stage
The biggest focus is Gemini. The upgraded Gemini Intelligence experience, which can help complete tasks across apps, is now set to come preloaded on Samsung's new foldables and will support more than 40 apps. Users will also be able to activate the assistant with a screenshot, opening the door to faster, more visual interactions.
Google says the assistant is designed to handle everyday actions such as reservations or ride bookings while keeping users in control through on-screen previews and final approval prompts.
Gemini Notebook and Foldable Advantages
The newly renamed Gemini Notebook, formerly known as NotebookLM, will also be installed on the new devices. On the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, the larger display will make it easier to drag and drop content such as images and links from other apps directly into notebooks.
Samsung buyers will also receive six months of Google AI Pro at no extra cost, unlocking expanded AI tools, higher usage limits, video generation, and additional cloud storage.
Smarter Wearables and Easier Switching
On the Galaxy Watch 9, Gemini will respond as soon as the wrist is raised for a voice command, removing the need for a wake word and making access feel more immediate.
Google also introduced a wireless switching option built into Android 17, allowing users to move from iPhone to Samsung devices without a cable. The process now supports more data, including Google Account details and Wi-Fi credentials, alongside photos, videos, contacts, messages, and calendars.
Together, these updates point to a more fluid mobile experience where AI, foldable design, and cross-device migration work in sync, shaping the next phase of connected technology.
