Financial apps are evolving beyond single-purpose tools. Investing, banking, credit, retirement planning, cryptocurrency and AI-supported trading are increasingly being brought together in one digital experience.
At TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, Robinhood's Vice President of Brokerage Product Management, Abhishek Fatehpuria, is set to discuss how financial platforms can meet rising expectations for simplicity, personalization and trust.
From commission-free trading to a broader ecosystem
Robinhood built its early identity around commission-free stock trading. Its platform now reaches across investing, banking, credit, crypto, retirement products and prediction markets, reflecting a wider shift toward integrated personal-finance services.
By the end of August 2026, Robinhood reported 28.6 million funded customers and $384 billion in total platform assets. The company also said its banking offering had surpassed $3 billion in deposits, while its credit card business exceeded $100 million in annualized revenue.
The company's expanding portfolio signals an ambition to become a more central destination for everyday money decisions, rather than solely a place to buy and sell assets.
AI enters the investing experience
Robinhood is also testing new approaches to AI-powered investing through products including Cortex and Agentic Trading. During the second quarter, nearly 100,000 customers opened Agentic Trading accounts, designed to let users trade equities, options and crypto with AI-supported agents.
Prediction markets have emerged as another rapidly growing segment. Robinhood said customers traded 4.7 billion event contracts in August, representing a 15-fold increase from the prior year.
As consumers grow accustomed to instant access and tailored digital experiences, financial technology companies face a defining challenge: adding powerful services without making personal finance feel complicated. This transition could shape a future in which trusted, intelligent platforms make financial management more accessible and responsive.
