Replit, the innovative platform revolutionizing coding with its vibe-coding approach, has achieved a remarkable milestone in its funding journey. The company announced on Wednesday that it secured a substantial $400 million in a Series D funding round, propelling its valuation to an impressive $9 billion. This round was spearheaded by Georgian Partners, a long-time investor, and included contributions from notable firms such as G Squared, Prysm Capital, Coatue, Andreessen Horowitz, Craft Ventures, Y Combinator, Accenture Ventures, Okta Ventures, and Databricks Ventures.
In a statement shared on X, Replit's Founder and CEO, Amjad Masad, revealed that the funding also attracted angel investors like basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal and actor Jared Leto, further emphasizing the platform's growing appeal.
This latest funding comes just six months after Replit reached a valuation of $3 billion in September 2023, following a $250 million investment round. At that time, the company projected an annualized revenue of $150 million. While updated figures on annual recurring revenue (ARR) have not been disclosed, Replit aims to achieve an ARR of $1 billion by year-end, showcasing its ambitious growth trajectory.
Masad previously shared insights into the company's journey, highlighting that it took nearly a decade of perseverance and a strategic pivot from catering to professional developers to engaging non-programmers to discover its niche in the market.
Replit's rapid ascent reflects not only its innovative approach to coding but also the increasing demand for user-friendly programming tools that cater to a diverse audience. As the company continues to evolve, its impact on the future of coding and digital creativity is poised to expand significantly.
