The company, which emerged from stealth in May with $650 million in funding, is directing a large share of its capital toward computing power rather than traditional expansion.

According to the company, the deal is designed to give it the flexibility needed to scale its research and product development efforts. CEO Jürgen Schmidhuber described the arrangement as the first of several expected compute commitments, suggesting that future infrastructure deals could become even larger.

Recursive's approach centers on using AI systems to improve and automate parts of their own development cycle. That strategy places compute at the core of the business model, with the company aiming to increase the number of intelligent agents it can run and refine over time.

Amazon Web Services said the partnership also includes work on infrastructure tailored for this new generation of AI companies. The collaboration may help shape specialized cloud tools for teams building advanced foundation models and autonomous systems.

Recursive expects to begin showing early products in the coming months, with initial releases potentially arriving as soon as October. The company says its focus is on creating practical tools that users can interact with directly, bringing ambitious AI research closer to everyday applications.
