Read AI has unveiled a groundbreaking AI-driven email assistant named Ada, designed to streamline scheduling and enhance communication for users. This innovative tool acts as a "digital twin," managing tasks around the clock and providing answers based on a company's knowledge base.
Ada is accessible to all users who can initiate the setup by sending an email to "ada@read.ai" with the message "Get me started." Once operational, Ada can efficiently coordinate meeting times by responding to inquiries with your availability. If conflicts arise, it offers alternative time slots without disclosing the details of your meetings.
Beyond scheduling, Ada utilizes a company's knowledge base and previous meeting discussions to answer queries. For example, users can inquire about progress on quarterly goals, and Ada will provide relevant updates.
When questions arise in email threads, Ada prepares responses for review, ensuring sensitive information remains confidential. According to Read AI's VP of Product, Justin Farris, Ada's functionality is built on a knowledge graph derived from meeting data, allowing for more contextual answers without relying on external AI service protocols.
As users engage more with Ada, the assistant will proactively assist with tasks, such as reminding you to follow up on action items discussed in meetings. CEO David Shim likens Ada's integration into workflows to training a new employee, emphasizing its potential to handle an increasing number of tasks as it learns from user interactions.
Currently, Ada operates through email, with plans to expand its capabilities to platforms like Slack and Teams. During the recent Web Summit in Qatar, Shim highlighted that Read AI boasts over 5 million active users and aims to double this figure, noting that the platform sees around 50,000 new sign-ups daily.
While the U.S. remains the largest market for Read AI, international growth is significant, with 60% of users located outside the U.S. The company's revenue is evenly distributed between domestic and international users.
Having secured over $81 million in funding, Read AI continues to enhance its suite of AI tools. Recent updates include features for knowledge discovery and customer service automation, positioning the company as a leader in the meeting notetaking space. Other competitors are also innovating, with tools that extract insights from meeting notes and integrate with various productivity platforms.
