Fintech company Ramp has expanded into AI infrastructure with the launch of Router, a model-routing service that lets users and businesses access and switch between multiple large language models through a single API.
The company says the system has powered its own internal AI workflows for the past three years, and is now being offered publicly in the United States. Router is free through the end of 2026, although users still pay for model inference usage. Ramp is also offering a $26 launch credit.
The platform currently connects to models from OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Moonshot, Minimax, Nvidia, xAI, and Z.ai. It also includes routing strategies that help customers direct requests based on cost, performance benchmarks, or task complexity. Users can compare token spend, latency, fallback attempts, and other usage details through a dashboard.
Ramp says Router uses an opt-out data retention policy and keeps model inputs, outputs, and tool calls for one year by default, while removing personally identifiable information before product improvement use.
By entering the model-routing space, Ramp is combining its expense-management expertise with the fast-growing AI inference market. If Router gains traction, it could become a practical layer for how companies manage and optimize AI usage in the years ahead.
