Philips has introduced the 7000 Series dual-camera video doorbell, designed to deliver a more complete view of the front door. One lens faces outward to capture visitors, while a second lower-angle camera monitors the area near the doorstep, helping users see both people and packages in a single system.
The device records in 2K resolution with a 4:3 aspect ratio, creating a taller frame than standard doorbell cameras. Its 119-degree horizontal and 133.5-degree vertical field of view is built to cover typical entryways with minimal blind spots.
For installation, the doorbell can run on a rechargeable battery or connect to existing 8-24V wiring. It also includes 8GB of local storage, reducing the need for monthly cloud plans. Motion detection combines radar and PIR sensors, while AI helps distinguish between people, pets, and packages.
Additional features include 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi support, an indoor chime, color night vision, and two-way audio with noise cancellation. Smart home support is available for live viewing through Alexa and Google Assistant, although the main dual-camera experience remains the device's standout feature.
With its dual-angle design and subscription-free storage, the Philips 7000 Series reflects a broader shift toward smarter, more self-contained home security tools. In the future, this kind of design could help make connected entryway monitoring more practical and accessible for everyday homes.
