Otter.ai has raised $320 million from General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund (CVF), a financing model that provides growth capital without taking equity, with returns tied to marketing performance.
The company plans to direct the funding toward enterprise growth, market expansion, international reach and product development. Otter.ai says 40 million people have used its platform to date, up from 25 million last year. It also passed $100 million in annual recurring revenue last year.
From transcripts to workplace insights
Otter.ai is broadening its focus beyond recording and summarizing meetings. Its platform includes an AI meeting assistant, search across connected applications and integrations with other AI tools. The company is also testing features that provide users with relevant context before a meeting and let them ask its assistant questions during live conversations.
The strategy reflects a wider opportunity to turn spoken discussions into useful business knowledge and more coordinated workflows. If these tools can reliably connect meeting context with everyday work, they may help teams spend less time catching up and more time acting on shared information.
