Athens-based Omilia has raised $67 million in a Series B round led by Expedition Growth Capital to accelerate the growth of its customer support technology. The company, which has focused on automating voice interactions since 2002, says its approach is built around using the right tool for each service task rather than relying on one model for every request.
According to CEO Dimitris Vassos, many support inquiries are simple and repetitive, such as balance checks or basic account information. For those cases, Omilia argues that efficient automation can deliver stronger results and better economics than a fully generative AI approach.
The company has broadened its platform to include self-learning agents that operate across multiple customer touchpoints. Omilia says this strategy has helped it grow annual recurring revenue to $60 million, up 10x since its last funding round in 2020.
Omilia counts Capital One, Discover, RBC, DWP and PSEG among its clients, and it is also expanding in voice-based ordering for quick-service restaurants. Taco Bell is already using the technology across more than 1,000 locations, while the company says it is in discussions with additional U.S. restaurant chains.
The new capital will support a larger U.S. presence, a stronger go-to-market team and key leadership hires across revenue and marketing. With about 500 employees today, Omilia expects to reach 600 by year-end. The move signals how practical AI tools may shape the next generation of customer service experiences.
