The NFL is launching NFL Color Field, a program connecting football and visual art, ahead of its first regular-season game in Paris. The initiative will bring large-scale artworks and cultural experiences into the game-day setting.
For its Paris debut, Louisiana-born artist Jammie Holmes' work will feature in hand-painted end zones on a flag-football field beneath the Eiffel Tower, as part of NFL Experience Paris. The installation links Holmes' artistic roots and New Orleans Saints fandom with the city's cultural landscape. The Saints are set to play the Pittsburgh Steelers in Paris.
Curated by Jasmine Martin of Pivotal Arts, NFL Color Field builds on the league's NFL Artist Replay program, launched in 2023. Another edition is planned for Miami Art Week in December.
By giving artists a prominent place in sporting spaces, the program could broaden how audiences experience both football and contemporary art.
