Produced by Imagine Documentaries and Fifth Season in partnership with The Richard Avedon Foundation, the project draws on rare archival material, including unseen photographs, behind-the-scenes footage, and new conversations with people who worked closely with Avedon. The film traces how he shaped modern portraiture and fashion photography while building a visual language that influenced generations.
Howard has described the documentary as a chance to explore the human curiosity behind Avedon's iconic images. The film also extends Netflix's ongoing collaboration with Imagine Documentaries, reinforcing the platform's growing focus on premium nonfiction storytelling.
