Moove, the mobility company that began with vehicle financing and ride-hailing operations, has raised $250 million in a Series C round to accelerate its autonomous vehicle ambitions.
The round values the company at $2.1 billion and was led by Mubadala Investment Company, with Woven Capital and Ion Pacific serving as co-leads. Founded in 2020 in Nigeria and now based in Dubai, Moove continues to operate a large human-driven mobility network while building a new model for robotaxi fleet management.
Today, the company runs a 42,000-vehicle ride-hailing fleet across 14 countries and employs about 3,300 people worldwide. Its experience financing gig drivers and managing fleets has become the foundation for its autonomous vehicle strategy.
Moove began working in the AV space in 2023 and later partnered with Waymo. The company currently serves as fleet operator for Waymo in Phoenix, Miami, and Las Vegas, with London also in its long-term plans. While it does not yet own the Waymo vehicles, Moove says it intends to use debt financing to purchase robotaxis over time.
The new capital will support expansion of its autonomous fleet management business, including the hiring of around 350 additional employees. It will also help develop automated depots called "Nests," designed to run around the clock with robotics handling charging, maintenance, and servicing.
Moove says it is developing about 15 depots in different stages and sees a future where fleet operations become more automated, efficient, and scalable. The company's broader mobility business is also expected to reach full profitability this year. This shift could help define how autonomous transport infrastructure evolves in the years ahead.
