The company has experienced a remarkable growth, quadrupling the number of organizations subscribing for over 50,000 seats. Notable companies such as Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, Mercedes, and Roche account for over 90,000 seats combined. Additionally, a recent partnership with Accenture, which includes over 740,000 seats, was highlighted as the company's largest Copilot deal to date.
Nadella emphasized the growing engagement with Copilot, stating that user interactions have increased by nearly 20% quarter over quarter. Weekly engagement levels now mirror those of Outlook, indicating that Copilot has become a daily tool for many users.
The versatility of Copilot is enhanced by its capability to access multiple AI models simultaneously, moving beyond reliance on any single platform like OpenAI. This feature allows users to generate more effective responses through intelligent auto-routing and collaborative model usage.
Furthermore, Microsoft 365 now supports Anthropic's Claude, which broadens the AI capabilities available to users. Analyst Keith Weiss from Morgan Stanley remarked on the impressive user numbers, suggesting they exceed most expectations.
One of the key drivers of engagement is the introduction of the "Agent mode," which has recently become the default experience across Copilot, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This functionality allows Copilot to perform multi-step actions directly within documents, enabling users to delegate tasks more efficiently.
