Meta's business AI tools have surged to 10 million weekly conversations, reflecting significant growth and potential for future monetization strategies.

Meta's Business AI Reaches 10 Million Weekly Conversations

Meta is making waves in the AI landscape, with its business AI tools now facilitating approximately 10 million conversations each week, a significant leap from just 1 million at the start of the year. This remarkable growth was highlighted during the company's first-quarter conference call in late March.

The surge in usage coincides with the recent expansion of Meta's business AI assistant beta program across regions including the U.S., EMEA, APAC, and LATAM. This initiative aims to enhance accessibility and support for small businesses as they navigate the digital landscape.

Currently, Meta is not monetizing these AI tools, providing them at no cost to small enterprises in a bid to scale their adoption. However, CEO Mark Zuckerberg indicated that a monetization strategy could be on the horizon as the technology matures.

"While our business AIs are free for most users on our messaging platforms, we anticipate developing a long-term monetization model as we progress," Zuckerberg stated during the conference.

Meta has been integrating advanced AI capabilities into its suite of business products, leveraging its newly developed large language model, Muse Spark, which is the first model launched under the Meta Superintelligence Labs division established last year.

The company is also witnessing strong engagement with its creative AI tools, with over 8 million advertisers utilizing at least one of its Generative AI ad features. These tools have shown to enhance performance, with advertisers employing the video generation feature experiencing over 3% higher conversion rates in their campaigns, as noted by CFO Susan Li.

In addition to these developments, Meta is set to launch the open beta of its Ads AI Connectors, enabling advertisers to link their Meta ad accounts with an AI agent for improved campaign management.

During the same quarter, Meta's suite of applications generated a total revenue of $885 million, driven by increased demand for paid messaging services on WhatsApp and subscriptions to its various platforms. The company has also initiated testing for a WhatsApp Plus subscription, offering users custom icons, themes, and notification sounds.

Meta reported a profit of $26.8 billion for the first quarter, a notable increase from $16.6 billion the previous year, with total revenue reaching $56.3 billion, marking a 33% year-over-year growth.
