Meta's new Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses combine calls, music, translation and Muse AI in a camera-free, lightweight wearable with up to 12 hours of battery life.

Meta Unveils Camera-Free Ray-Ban Meta Audio Glasses

Meta has introduced Ray-Ban Meta Audio, its first camera-free AI glasses, at Connect 2026. Developed with eyewear partner EssilorLuxottica, the new model focuses on audio, voice assistance and everyday hands-free connectivity.

The glasses let users listen to music and podcasts, make calls, translate spoken language and interact with Meta's AI assistant, Muse. By removing the camera, Meta has created a lighter audio-first wearable designed for people who want smart features in a familiar eyewear format.

Designed for all-day listening

According to Meta, Ray-Ban Meta Audio weighs 43 grams and offers up to 12 hours of battery life per charge. Its charging case extends total use to as much as 48 hours. Adjustable temple tips, interchangeable nose pads and flexible hinges are intended to improve comfort across different face shapes.

The collection will include 23 lens and color combinations, with two frame designs: the retro-inspired Clubmaster and the rectangular Burbank. Prescription lens options will also be available for users who need vision correction.

Ray-Ban Meta Audio will start at $349, with preorders scheduled to open on October 13. Alongside the audio-only model, Meta also presented the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 range, featuring new Aviator and Zena styles, a 12-megapixel camera, 3K Ultra HD recording capabilities and expanded audio hardware.

The arrival of camera-free AI glasses signals a broader shift toward more discreet, practical wearables. As voice AI, translation and personalized audio become more seamless, smart glasses may evolve into an everyday interface for communication, accessibility and digital assistance.
