Meta has introduced Muse Image, a new AI-powered image generator developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs, its dedicated artificial intelligence team. The feature was previously known internally as Mango.
The tool will be offered at no cost for everyday use through the Meta AI app, while also becoming available in Instagram Stories and WhatsApp. Meta says Muse is designed to make visual creation faster, simpler, and more accessible across its platforms.
What Muse Can Do
Muse supports a range of creative tasks, from generating playful illustrations to producing custom visuals for ads and home design ideas. It also includes preset prompts to help users start creating more easily.
The model adds prompt-based editing features as well. Users can ask it to place them in front of a landmark, remove unwanted objects from a photo, or generate a custom QR code image. Meta is also rolling out new AI effects for Instagram Stories, powered by the same system.
For now, the core image generation features are free within usage limits, after which Meta's subscription plans will apply. The company also says Muse Video is already in development, pointing to a broader creative AI roadmap.
With Muse, Meta is expanding its role in everyday digital creation and shaping a more integrated future for visual storytelling across social platforms.
