Mark Zuckerberg has added a notable property to his portfolio: the 19th-century Strancally Castle in Ireland, along with its 440-acre estate. The purchase places him close to Meta's international headquarters in the country, underscoring a growing personal and professional connection to the region.
The estate is set beside a river and framed by expansive greenery, combining historic character with a striking natural setting. Reports describe the property as featuring at least 11 bedrooms, four tower suites, a library, a dining room, and a drawing room, reflecting the scale of the residence.
A spokesperson said Zuckerberg and his family are looking forward to caring for the historic home and spending more time in Ireland, where Meta maintains a major international presence. The castle was previously owned by a financier who lived there with his family for 25 years.
The location also adds a strategic dimension, as Dublin is home to Meta's international headquarters and a major data center, while Waterford is within practical reach of the city.
