Indie developer Marco Arment has introduced Unforgetful, a new iOS and Mac app built for people who want a simpler, more persistent way to manage reminders. The app is designed as an alternative to Apple's Reminders, while still working directly with an existing Reminders database.
Arment says the idea came from a familiar frustration: reminders that are too easy to dismiss, snooze, or forget. Unforgetful tackles that by keeping notifications active until a task is completed and removed, making it harder for users to lose track of important to-dos.
The app also changes the snooze experience. Instead of repeating in a fixed pattern, reminder intervals gradually expand as snoozes continue, creating a more adaptive rhythm. At the same time, the design stays intentionally minimal, with no tags, advanced views, or complex organization layers.
One of Unforgetful's key strengths is its integration with Apple Reminders. Users can keep adding tasks through Siri or manually, then switch notifications to Unforgetful without changing their underlying reminder setup. That approach also makes it easy to try the app without committing to a new system.
Unforgetful includes its own voice input tool for spoken reminders, plus widgets for the Lock Screen and Control Center. The app is available for iOS and Mac at an annual price of $19.99.
By focusing on consistency, simplicity, and seamless integration, Unforgetful reflects how productivity tools may evolve toward more human-centered design in the future.
