AI startup Manus has resumed independent operations and is discussing a new funding round that could raise $500 million at a valuation of around $4 billion.
The company, known for its AI agents and creative productivity tools, is entering a new phase after separating from Meta. Manus said its founding team will continue to lead the business as it expands its product development and global ambitions.
Building AI tools for everyday creation
Manus develops AI-powered products that help users build applications and websites, create presentations and designs, generate video content, and use browser-based assistants. Its platform sits within the rapidly growing market for AI agents that can support both technical and creative workflows.
The startup gained widespread attention following demonstrations of its AI agent technology and had previously reported annual recurring revenue exceeding $100 million. Its early investors have also supported a share repurchase process that valued the company at approximately $2 billion.
Potential participants in the new financing are expected to include technology and investment groups such as IDG Capital, Boyu Capital, Contemporary Amperex Technology, Tencent, HSG and Zhenfund. Manus is also considering a restructuring process that could support a future Hong Kong IPO.
With fresh capital and an independent strategy, Manus could become a notable example of how AI-native companies scale from experimental tools into broader platforms for digital creation and software development.
